We have a gender balance ratio
and we need ladies who want to book in all female parties to fully appreciate you need dance partners, so you need to encourage the men to book!
Single Ladies or two females friends (sharing a twin) who get rooms in Stranger Shared Lodges, do not need to Gender Balance. There are no female Group "Stranger" Lodges, as these are available only to non groups.
MEN ALWAYS NEEDED FOR GENDER BALANCING
Because of gender balance ratios, we need you to book with men your booking is linked to men booking although you are in different lodges (or make up a group and share same lodge),
as we need to improve our gender balance ratio %.
Our Gender Balance ratio targets have always been and achieved each year:
47-48% men to 52-53% women.
In 2019 it was 47.4% men to 52.6% females
Men tend to book late, hence the situation!
Can you persuade men to book with you, if you do...
PLEASE
can get in touch and tell us their names so when they
book we can tell you, that you can contact
MJRoc to see what we can offer you in a female lodge
So much fun to found at Warmwell
they need to know it, just like you!

How did MJRoc come about?
Founder and now Sole Director of MJRoc Limited, Colin Shaul first set up meetings with owners of Warmwell in March 2009 for his vision for a dance weekender at Warmwell in November 2010, which was a complete sell out.
Colin's experience in Modern Jive started on 1/2/93, when he was invited to the first night of this dance in Southampton. He knew straight away he had found the dance he loved. An experienced DJ who started on the decks as a mobile dj back in 1977 and then within two years was dj'ing nights at Big Night clubs including London while working full time. There was a career move in 1984 to Hampshire but was still being asked to dj in Surrey for many years. In 1994 a change in full time work, brought his back to Surrey and with 3 friends launched the "The Jive In" in Guildford on 1/11/95. Soon after two friends deciding they could no longer offer the "commitment" required, LeRoc The Jive In came about. Then there was another change in full time work and Colin started LeRoc Surrey in Dorking on 19/10/98. In the years he taught at the 1st major dance weekender by another organiser including the 1st double class at Camber. He continued to DJ / Compere and was the "DJ that worked through the night" so it allowed the organiser (while he slept lol) to claim they were the "first 24 Hours dance weekender" and was known as the "head dj" for that organisation. Finding the organiser so often disorganised, it was him doing lots of work, unrewarded by the organiser, behind the scenes to make things happen. It that experienced he gained that would be useful at later date. He learnt that dj's and teachers should be rewarded for their hard work and dedication, by paying for their appearances rather than just a free place. He gained their "respect".
With so much gained experience, he would often be called on for "dance advice" by many other leading dance organisations.
Sadly hit (crushed) by another driver in a RTA on 15/10/2002, the internal injuries ended his dancing days and he embarked on a 6 year rehabilitation. On advice, when full time regular work was no longer an option, he started the foundations of expanding into setting up MJRoc as a dance holiday option, and when another dance company decided to end their (more rock n roll) weekender in late 2008 at Warmwell, the opportunity to talk to Parkdean was open. Hence now every November. MJRoc Warmwell is a major, well respected dance weekender in Dorset. We hope you will enjoy too.
